How it works

How cannabis is sold in Moreno Valley

Inside Moreno Valley's city limits a store needs four approvals; a "Moreno Valley" address outside them is a different case.

Alessandro, Heacock and the edges

On Alessandro Boulevard: Catalyst (24703), Higher Ground (21820) and Shango (24491). Heacock Street has Empire Gardens (12199) and STIIIZY (12540). Others are on Day Street (California Green World), Postal Avenue (Herban Kulture) and Pigeon Pass Road (a second Shango).

Because the cap is not reached, expect the list to grow, and treat a seller that is missing from the DCC search as unlicensed. Prices include the city's cannabis tax on top of state taxes, and the receipt shows the excise tax separately. The licensing guide has the checks. Stores sell from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and the state posts them in its licence search under the licensee name, which sometimes differs from the sign over the door, so search by address as well as by brand.

Cannabis in Moreno Valley: questions

How many cannabis stores can Moreno Valley have?

The council's Resolution 2022-74 of December 6, 2022 set 25 storefront retail permits. Verdex lists 11.

Is every "Moreno Valley" address inside the city?

No. Riverside County has separate rules for unincorporated areas, so a mailing address alone does not prove city licensing.
