What did the 2022 update remove?

In 2022 the city council approved an update to its cannabis ordinance that lifted the cap on new businesses and let retail be licensed like any other use, Lost Coast Outpost reported. The same update cut permit types from 13 to three: General Cannabis Use, Cannabis Retail and Chemical Cannabis Extraction. Around 43 cannabis businesses hold city permits, some with several licences, which is why the seven listed here are only the shop fronts. Individual store licences such as C10-0000218-LIC for Ecocann can be checked with the state. Humboldt is a cultivation county, so the smaller store list hides a much bigger permit base. The licensed-shop guide explains checks, and California carries the limits and taxes.
