What did Measure G tax?
The ballot question covered commercial distribution and manufacturing, at up to ten cents per dollar of proceeds, with an estimated $2.3 million a year and no sunset clause. The city attorney's analysis added that Perris already permitted those two activities. Retail came separately: the city's cannabis program page says it is no longer accepting new retail applications, so the seven register entries are unlikely to grow soon.
Who is on Harley Knox?
The Syndicate Perris at 1073 and Off the Charts at 1133 anchor the boulevard. The other five spread out: Empire Gardens on North Perris Boulevard (Suite C), Mystika on Ethanac Road, Strains Dispensary on Rider Street, Westside Cllctv on Washington Street and Highlands Reserve on Malbert Street. Check any of them against the state rulebook and the city's list before a trip.
Cannabis in Perris: questions
Does Perris tax cannabis retail?
Measure G, as Ballotpedia records it, authorised a tax on commercial distribution and manufacturing operations. The retail tax is not covered by that measure, so ask the shop what the city adds.
Can new stores still open in Perris?
The city's program page says applications for new retail permits are closed. A new listing would have to take over an existing permit.
