How it works

How cannabis is sold in Antioch

The use permit request behind 300 G Street went in during June 2022, and Off the Charts did not open the store until mid-November 2024, according to Contra Costa News.

  • Expect a council vote behind every store. The city says cannabis businesses need a Use Permit, first reviewed by the Planning Commission, and the City Council acts on all cannabis applications.
  • Match legal names. The register entry for that downtown store is Otc Antioch LLC, licence C10-0001504-LIC, not a brand.
  • Find the cluster. West 10th Street carries Delta Dispensary at 2101, Flame at 2515 and One Plant at 2701.
  • Check the outliers. Catalyst is on Crow Court, Flavors of Antioch on Somersville Road and Ant Green on East 18th Street.

What was different about downtown?

The G Street store is in the historic downtown, and its building owner told the paper that foot traffic rose by more than 100 people a day after opening. The city says it has no application deadline, so more permits can still arrive. Verdex holds seven licences, all without scores.

Where do the rules live?

Cannabis rules sit in Section 9-5.3845 of Antioch's municipal code, adopted with Ordinance 2143-C-S in 2018. To confirm any of these stores is licensed, the licensed-shop guide walks through the state lookup; for the wider Bay Area picture, go up to California.
