How it works

How cannabis is sold in Stockton

You are driving south on Highway 99, and the register has one Stockton store right on the road: Embarc at 4895 State Route 99.

  1. Choose the corridor.
Hammer Lane holds Off The Charts at 3008 East (Suite 108) and Packs at 3706 East. Coastal is on West Lane at 7840, Connected on Wilson Way, Zen Garden on Pacific Avenue and Port City Alternative on West Fremont Street.
  2. Read the unit.
Suites and buildings are part of the licence: Coastal is Suite F, Packs is Suite 6, Connected is Building 1a.
  3. Do not expect a rush of new names.
Stockton's code lets in two storefront retailers a year by lottery, and in 2026 the city received five applications, only two eligible, so both won by default.
  4. Call ahead.
The register carries no opening times.

How many can Stockton hold?

On 1 March 2022 the council reinstated a cap of 14 storefront retailers and cut the eligible parcels to 759, the San Joaquin Valley Sun reported. Stores must stay 300 feet from residential zones, 600 feet from parks, schools and places of worship, and 1,000 feet from one another. A city spokesperson told Stocktonia in 2024 that applications keep falling, possibly because the market is saturated. Statewide buying rules, which Stockton does not change, are set out in California.

Cannabis in Stockton: questions

Is Stockton still accepting cannabis storefront applications?

Once a year. The 2026 window ran from 1 May to 1 June, and two eligible applications were declared winners without a drawing, according to the city.

How many stores does Stockton list as operating?

Verdex lists seven with Stockton addresses. The city's cap is 14, so the register is well under the ceiling.
