Why was it a "cannabis desert"?
The Silicon Valley Cannabis Alliance's president told the Redwood City Pulse that there was no retail between San Francisco and San Jose along Highway 101. Twenty-eight businesses already offering delivery applied in early 2021 and four became finalists. Each must fund community benefits worth roughly $600,000 a year in total plus 4,000 volunteer hours, and pay a 4 percent general tax on gross receipts to the city.
Which of the five do I know?
Juva, Embarc and MMD line Broadway, Airfield Supply Company is on Whipple Avenue and Flor on El Camino Real. State law sits one level up, in the California page of this site.
