How it works

How cannabis is sold in Medford

The risk in Medford is not too few shops. It is 33 listed ones with overlapping names and a county that has spent years fighting illegal cannabis.

  • Match name, address and licence. The register has Bud's at 101 S Riverside, Budz Barn on South Pacific Highway and Budz Mart at 429 S Central. Similar names, separate register entries. Ask each shop to show its OLCC licence, because the state's public dataset returned no records when Verdex checked in September 2026.
  • Confirm the shop is inside Medford. Central Point, Eagle Point, Jacksonville and Shady Cove prohibit retail, per OLCC's September 2026 record, so buyers from those towns come here and shops with Medford addresses on Crater Lake Highway and Crater Lake Avenue may sit outside the city line.
  • Expect the city tax in the price. Medford voters approved a 3 percent tax on top of the state's, as the Mail Tribune reported; Oregon prices usually include it at the shelf.
  • Buy tested, labelled product. Jackson County commissioners declared a state of emergency over illegal cannabis grows, and state inspectors found 53 percent of tested hemp grows in Jackson and Josephine counties were growing marijuana, MJBizDaily reported.

Where they stand

Downtown dominates: Cannabiz Experience, LLC on North Riverside and Cannabis Liquidation Outlet at 924 S Central, with C&c Farms Rec Shop on West Main and Cloud 9 Wellness and Crater Cannabis on the Crater Lake corridor east of the freeway. Medford's code, section 10.839, governs marijuana-related businesses, and the city has about 86,000 residents (2020 census), so 33 entries is one per 2,600 people.

Why the count is high

Medford allows retail and Central Point, Eagle Point, Jacksonville and Shady Cove do not, which concentrates buyers here. State law is summarised in the Oregon hub.

Cannabis in Medford: questions

Is Medford's 3 percent cannabis tax on top of the shelf price?

Voters approved it as an addition to the state's 17 percent. In Oregon the combined tax is usually built into the advertised price, so you should not see a separate line at the till.

Which Jackson County towns ban cannabis shops?

OLCC's September 2026 record lists Central Point, Eagle Point, Jacksonville and Shady Cove as prohibiting retail. Medford is not on the list.
