Look up a licenseHow cannabis is sold in Grants Pass
A driver on I-5 in southern Oregon can pull off at Grants Pass and buy without leaving the city grid. Verdex lists 10 shops, split between downtown streets and the highways out of town.
- Choose downtown or the highway
Downtown has Diamond Cannabis at 300 SW 6th, Emerald Triangle Dispensary at 235 Union and Redwood Cannabis Dispensary at 825 NE F Street. The highways have Budz Cannabis Superstore and a second Emerald Triangle on Merlin Road, plus Cafe Verde and Skunkrx on the Rogue River Highway. - Bring photo ID
Adults 21 and over only. - Keep it in Oregon
California is the next state south, and the federal line applies at the border. - Use it privately
Not in a car, a park or on the river.
What the council tried
In July 2015 the city council voted 6 to 0 to ban outdoor grows, and it later referred an ordinance to the ballot to ban nearly all marijuana commerce, the Mail Tribune reported. Yet OLCC's September 2026 record of prohibiting cities and counties carries no Grants Pass entry, so retail is not prohibited today. Josephine County's commissioners held a hearing on August 4, 2025 on amendments that would sharply cut permitted grows. That is a production fight, not a retail one. How to check a licence takes a minute. Looking for age, limits or tax? The Oregon state page answers that.
Cannabis in Grants Pass: questions
Are recreational dispensaries allowed in Grants Pass?
Yes. OLCC's September 2026 record of prohibiting cities and counties does not list Grants Pass or Josephine County, so retail is not prohibited.
Are all 10 listed shops inside city limits?
Not necessarily. The Merlin Road and Rogue River Highway addresses are outside the downtown grid and may sit in the county, so check the jurisdiction if the rule matters to you.
