Look up a licenseHow cannabis is sold in Astoria
Does the Clatsop County tax reach downtown Astoria?
Not by its own terms. The county code taxes marijuana retail sales at three percent in the unincorporated areas, so a shop inside city limits answers to whatever Astoria itself charges. Our register does not carry the city rate, and the state's 17 percent applies everywhere.
How many shops are on Marine Drive?
Four of the eight we show: Good Life Collective at 193, Hashstoria at 229 West, Smooth Roots at 491 West, and Pure Green at 3108, the highest number of the four. The first three carry low numbers on the same road.
What is on Commercial Street?
Cannabis Nation at 1169 and Sweet Relief Natural Medicine at 1444, the two Commercial Street entries in the list. Together with Marine Drive they account for six of the eight addresses we show.
Why does one brand appear twice?
Mr. Nice Guy holds two Astoria entries, Mr. Nice Guy Astoria on Olney Avenue and Mr. Nice Guy Bond St. on Bond Street. Each is a separate licence record, so they can have different hours and stock. The register lists nine Astoria licences in all. Anything the city does not change is covered in our Oregon overview.
Cannabis in Astoria: questions
Is Astoria's cannabis tax the same as the county's?
We could not confirm that. The county's three percent applies to sales in unincorporated Clatsop County, per the county code, so ask an Astoria shop what the city adds.
Which Astoria addresses are on the river side?
Six of the eight entries we show are on Marine Drive or Commercial Street. Mr. Nice Guy's two licences use Olney Avenue and Bond Street addresses.
