Cannabis in Ashland
Ashland's land-use code keeps cannabis outlets more than 1,000 feet apart, which is why six shops spread along Siskiyou Boulevard and Main Street.

Why the shops are strung along one road
That spacing explains why the register's six Ashland licences do not bunch up. Three are on Siskiyou Boulevard: Rogue Valley Cannabis at 505, Kaleafa at 1253 and Substance at 1526. Ashland also has its own city tax on marijuana sales in chapter 4.38 of the municipal code, separate from anything the state charges.
Downtown, and the two that break the pattern
North Main Street holds Nectar at 488 and The Spot Cannabis Collective at 800, that pair sits on one street. Kingston Cannabis Company is the outlier, out on Ashland Street at 2366.
Because the distance is measured between outlets, a new applicant has to find a lot that clears every existing shop, which is a question for the planning office and not something the register can answer. The register has no hours or ratings for these shops, only the licence record. The licence-check guide shows how to match a storefront to its OLCC entry.
Cannabis in Ashland: questions
Can two cannabis shops share a building in Ashland?
Yes, under one exception in the land-use code: a medical and a recreational retail sales outlet do not need the 1,000-foot separation when they operate together in one building.
Does Ashland charge its own cannabis tax?
The municipal code has a chapter, 4.38, titled tax on the sale of marijuana. Read that chapter for the current rate before budgeting.
