How it works

How cannabis is sold in New Rochelle

New Rochelle never opted out, and its zoning now measures shop distances the way the state does.

  • Count from the door. A city zoning amendment to section 331-115.6 requires distances to follow the state regulator's method: a straight line from the shop entrance to the nearest point of the school property line.
  • Tell the Reserves apart. The Cannabis Reserve at 1307 North Ave and Monarch Reserve at 251 North Ave share a word, so check which one you mean before you drive.
  • Use the unit. Soulful Matter is at 365B North Ave, and DTPFF and Luminare are at 831 and 969 Main Street.
  • Skip the smoke shop. The council debated stricter smoke shop rules in October 2025, according to Talk of the Sound, so a store selling vapes is a different licence.

Which streets have the stores?

North Avenue has four of the eight, at 251, 365B, 576 and 1307. Main Street has two more, and Sunny Days is at 20 E Main St, with Highlife Health at 19 Huguenot St. Lounges are also allowed here, but Verdex lists none.

And beyond the city?

Elsewhere in Westchester, White Plains and Yonkers stayed in as well. Verdex has licence and address data for all eight stores and no scores. Statewide limits sit on New York's hub.
