The school-distance trap
New York requires a store to sit at least 500 feet from a school, and the Queens Chronicle reported that many legal shops in the borough might have to relocate after distances were re-measured. That risk is highest on dense Northern Boulevard and Union Turnpike blocks. The register gives street numbers without the Queens hyphen; the table restores it so you can find the right door.
State law is summarised in the New York rules. The licensed-versus-smoke-shop guide shows how to check a licence on the state list.
Cannabis in Flushing: questions
Are Flushing's dispensaries licensed by New York State?
Verdex builds its lists from the state's public licence data. Still, match the name and address on the state's verification tool before you buy, especially near school blocks.
Why does the list include Ridgewood and Kew Gardens Hills addresses?
Verdex files shops by the city label on the state record. Golden Buds at 59-06 Myrtle Avenue is a Ridgewood address, and the Union Turnpike entries fall on the Kew Gardens Hills side.
