Look up a licenseHow cannabis is sold in Woodstock
Legal retail begins in Canada, online only in Ontario.
Deadline for Ontario councils to opt out of private stores; Woodstock did not.
Woodstock Cannabis opens at 579 Dundas St, the first legal store in the city, Cannabis Culture reported.
The AGCO removes its rule that product be out of sight from the street.
Earliest opening moves from 9 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Where are the six?
Dundas Street has Dundas Cannabis at 620 and VIP Cannabis Co. at 930 Unit 107. Highlife is on Huron St, Pay Less on Norwich Ave, Canna Cabana at 385 Springbank Ave Unit 143 and STELLAR Bud at 951 Devonshire Ave Unit 3. The first store, at 579 Dundas St, does not appear in Verdex's current list, so check the address on the AGCO register before relying on it. Woodstock had 46,705 residents in 2021, so six stores mean about one per 7,800 people. Age and ID rules are on the Ontario hub, and Verdex holds licence and address data for the six, without scores.
Cannabis in Woodstock: questions
Why is the first store missing from the list?
Verdex's register shows six other addresses. The 579 Dundas St store may have closed or been relicensed under another name, so confirm it on the AGCO register.
Which nearby town refused stores?
Norwich Township opted out before the 2019 deadline, Heart FM reported, and it is one of two Oxford County communities without one.
