How it works

How cannabis is sold in Keswick

A driver heading up to Lake Simcoe cottages reaches Keswick's cannabis stores on one road, The Queensway South, but only because Georgina changed its mind.

  1. Look at The Queensway South.
Levicann is at 488, Sessions at 443 Unit 27 and Your Local Cannabis at 213 Unit 12.
  2. Or town side streets.
The House of Cannabis is at 1 Church Street, which it has traded from since 2022, according to its website, Tokyo Smoke at 200 Simcoe Avenue and One Plant at 76 Arlington Drive.
  3. Do not count the island.
Georgina Post reported in July 2019 that the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation planned its own store. It is a separate jurisdiction from this list.
  4. Keep it sealed in the car.
Rules are in the car guide.

Why did Keswick's stores arrive late?

On January 16, 2019 Georgina council voted 4-3 to opt out of retail cannabis, even though a town survey showed a majority in favour. Council lifted the prohibition on May 19, 2021, according to the Town of Georgina, so the first shops came later than in neighbouring municipalities. York Region Public Health and York Regional Police handle consumption and driving enforcement. Province-wide rules: Ontario hub.
