Greater Sudbury is one municipality that covers a very large area, so the 15 stores on this list are far apart. In December 2018 city councillors voted unanimously to allow private cannabis stores, and the city noted that opting in kept it in line for a share of provincial cannabis funding.

Every listed shop appears in the AGCO register, and adults 19 and over may buy. Stores buy from the Ontario Cannabis Store, so a map matters more than a menu: pick a shop on your route, then check its hours, which the province allows from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Elm Street, Lasalle Boulevard and Long Lake Road

Downtown Sudbury has Budssmoke at 52 Elm Street and Casa Bliss at 324 Elm Street. North of the centre, Lasalle Boulevard carries Grassroots Co at 1113 and Highlife Cannabis at 1855. In the south end Long Lake Road has Canna Cabana at 2019 and FIKA at number 2408, and Happy Life is on the Kingsway. Grassroots Co has a second store on Second Avenue North, and both appear in the top rows.

  • Distances: two shops listed as Sudbury can be a long drive apart; use the address, not the name of the chain, to decide.
  • Northern context: the other large northern lists are Thunder Bay and Sault Ste. Marie.
  • Legal use: in Ontario cannabis may be smoked wherever tobacco is allowed, but not in enclosed workplaces or on bar and restaurant patios.
