Brampton council voted to opt in to private cannabis stores at the eleventh hour, CBC reported, just before the province's January 22, 2019 deadline, while neighbouring Caledon opted out on the deadline day itself. Verdex lists 44 AGCO-authorized stores in Brampton, from Bramalea Road and Airport Road to North Park Drive and Veterans Drive.

Nineteen is the minimum age, and a sale is limited to 30 grams of dried cannabis or its equivalent. All are register entries without scores yet, including 6ix Cannabis on North Park Drive, Blaze Cannabis on Vodden Street East and Bodega Boyz on Bramalea Road.

Narrowing down 44 stores

A list this long needs a method. Start with the road you will actually drive, then compare a shortlist on the same three points.

  • Brand versus one-off: Canna Cabana holds three Brampton licences (148 West Dr, 9025 Airport Rd and 34 Avondale Blvd), while Budssmoke (170 Davenfield Cir) and Cannabis Xpress (405 Veterans Dr) are single addresses. The Canna Cabana guide explains the chain.
  • Delivery: staff of the store only, to a private place in Ontario, 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., according to the AGCO.

Ontario has no minimum distance between two cannabis stores, only the AGCO's 150 metres from schools, so two shops can share a plaza strip. Mississauga, on Brampton's southern edge, spent until April 2023 without any legal store and now has its own list, while Caledon remains opted out. Each store must show its AGCO authorization, and the AGCO's map lets you check. See the licence-check guide and the Ontario hub.

Questions about this list

Did Brampton allow cannabis stores?

Yes. Brampton council opted in to private stores shortly before the January 22, 2019 deadline, CBC reported, and the AGCO lists Brampton as opted in.

Does Caledon have cannabis stores?

No. Caledon opted out on January 22, 2019 and the AGCO's list still shows it as opted out, so Caledon residents have to shop in other municipalities such as Brampton.

Can Brampton cannabis stores deliver?

Yes, authorized stores can deliver with their own employees to a private place in Ontario between 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. Third-party couriers are not allowed.

Buying in Canada

  • Minimum age

18 in Alberta, 21 in Quebec, 19 in all other provinces and territories.

  • Possession

    30 g of dried cannabis or equivalent in public (1 g dried = 5 g fresh, 15 g edible solids, 70 g non-solid products, 570 g beverages, 0.25 g concentrates or 1 seed). Some provinces cap home storage, e.g. 150 g per residence in Quebec and 1,000 g per household in B.C.

  • Home grow

Up to 4 plants per residence under federal law. Prohibited in Quebec. Manitoba passed Bill 34 in June 2024 and home growing became legal there on May 1, 2025 (19+, up to 4 plants per household, grown indoors; gov.mb.ca).

  • Public use

Set provincially: generally allowed where tobacco smoking is in Ontario and B.C. (with exceptions); smoking and vaping banned in all public spaces in Quebec; no public consumption in New Brunswick; private dwellings only in PEI; restricted in Alberta and Nova Scotia; not in vehicles.
