Pickering opted out of private cannabis stores in 2018, then reversed course after a public consultation showed a clear majority wanted them, city councillor Kevin Ashe told Global News. The first shop, Lolly, opened on June 18, 2021 in the Bay Ridges area; it applied in January of that year. Verdex lists Lolly at 776 Liverpool Road.
The list now holds 15 stores, every one an AGCO-authorized retailer. You must be 19 to buy, purchases are capped at 30 grams of dried cannabis or its equivalent, and any shop should display its authorization certificate.

- Compare by: hours, loyalty programs and how a shop handles pre-orders, because the OCS product range is identical everywhere.
- Unit numbers: several addresses here are plazas with many tenants, such as Unit B 1-2 at 1278 Kingston Road for Buzzed Buds, so use the unit when you look up directions.
- Driving: impaired-driving limits are a separate matter from buying; the driving-law explainer compares Canada with other countries.
- Next door: Toronto's eastern district has far more choice, listed on the Scarborough page.
