In 2019 Barrie council asked the province for more separation than it was willing to give: a public-interest statement proposing 300 metres around schools, Georgian College sites, parks and libraries, double the AGCO's 150 metres, according to Global News. The province did not let the city cap the number of stores or control their placement through licensing or land-use bylaws. Verdex lists 24 AGCO-authorized stores in Barrie today.
Anyone 19 or older can buy, up to 30 grams a time. Addresses run along Mapleview Drive West, Yonge Street, Bayfield Street, Hurst Drive, Wellington Street West, Cundles Road East and Anne Street South. They are register entries without scores yet, such as Buds House and Emerald Cannabis Co.

Questions about this list
How far must Barrie cannabis stores be from schools?
The AGCO's rule is 150 metres. Barrie council's 2019 statement asked for 300 metres around schools, Georgian College sites and other sensitive places, but Global News reported that municipalities cannot use bylaws to control store placement.
Which cannabis chains are in Barrie?
Our list includes two Buds 4 Less stores, Discounted Cannabis on Anne Street South and Canna Cabana on Cundles Road East, plus independents on Bayfield Street and Wellington Street West.
Does Oro-Medonte have cannabis stores?
No. Oro-Medonte opted out of private retail on January 9, 2019, and the AGCO list still shows it that way. Innisfil and Springwater opted in.
