How cannabis is sold in Anthony

The local risk in Anthony is geography: two towns of the same name touch, one on each side of the New Mexico and Texas line, and only the New Mexico side sells.

Pick the right Anthony. Search with the state name. The New Mexico town sits on I-10, 24 miles south of Las Cruces and 18 miles north of El Paso.

A small town with a border market

Anthony had 8,693 residents at the 2020 census, though its mayor says the real figure is nearer 9,400. In 2022, in the first week of adult-use sales, news reports said shops in border towns sold far more than their population would predict, and almost half of the state's top 20 revenue stores were in Texas-border cities including Anthony. The mayor then counted three licensed dispensaries. The register now lists ten records.
