How it works

How cannabis is sold in Los Lunas

You leave I-25 at Los Lunas expecting a village of about nine cannabis businesses, the number a cap of one per 2,000 residents allows, according to the Valencia County News-Bulletin, and then find 17 licence records on the register.

  1. Check the village limits.
A Los Lunas postal address does not put a shop inside the village; some records may sit in unincorporated Valencia County, where county zoning applies instead.
  2. Pick a road.
Main Street holds the most: Budding Bar at 110, C.G. Corrigan and Leaf and Flower at 1400, Everest Apothecary at 1651 and FCI of New Mexico at 3459.
  3. Spot the double listing.
Budding Bar and Dispensary and GH LLC both list 3414 NM 47, so one address is counted twice.
  4. Try Lujan Road last.
Family Strains sits on Lujan Road, off the main run.

Why 17 is an upper bound

The village also keeps cannabis 300 feet from schools and daycares. We cannot tell from the register which records are inside the limits, so treat the 17 as a ceiling. Nearby Belen restricts stores differently, so a map of the two towns will not look the same. Statewide rules are on the regional overview; patients should read the medical card and tax guide.
