Anthony is one town split by a state line: Anthony, New Mexico, in Doña Ana County, sits directly against Anthony, Texas, and shoppers cross from El Paso County to buy. El Paso Matters reported in 2022 that El Pasoans were driving sales in Anthony and Sunland Park. Five of Verdex's 10 listings are on Anthony Drive, including Compassionate Distributors at 401, Couth Farms at 132 and Greengo NM at 816.

The limit per purchase is 2 ounces of flower, 16 grams of concentrate or 800 mg of edibles, and buyers must be 21.

Buying on the border, going home across it

The legal line is the whole point here: cannabis is licensed on the New Mexico side and still illegal in Texas. The Texas side of the town is a short walk away, so a purchase is legal at the counter and a problem the moment you cross back. Keep it in New Mexico, and do not drive with it on Interstate 10 toward El Paso, where federal and Texas law both apply.

  • Layout: the rest are on East O'Hara Road (Erb Holdings and Kushology 101), Three Saints Road and Miller Street.
  • Tax: a 14% state cannabis excise tax began July 1, 2026, with gross receipts tax added, according to the state Taxation and Revenue Department.

Several licence names repeat the street, such as "Anthony Dr Retail," so verify the address before driving. The ten licences are verified; no shop has a Verdex score yet.

Questions about this list

Can I bring cannabis from Anthony, New Mexico into Texas?

No. Cannabis remains illegal in Texas and under federal law, so carrying New Mexico purchases across the state line exposes you to charges even though the sale was licensed.

Yes. New Mexico shops sell to any adult 21 or older with a valid government ID, and they do not require New Mexico residency.
