Do Portland buyers still cross the river?
They did at the start. The Columbian reported in July 2015 that Vancouver's stores were among the state's top sellers, and that the flow was expected to reverse once Oregon shops could sell recreationally that fall. Today the worry runs the other way: a Clark County shop owner told the paper in February 2026 that flat-tax bills could push buyers to Oregon.
What did the 2026 tax bills do?
Nothing yet. SB 6328, on the cannabis excise tax, was still in the Senate Ways & Means Committee on September 29, 2026 according to the legislature's site, so Washington's 37 percent excise stands. For context, Oregon's state rate is 17 percent with up to 3 percent locally.
Which of these shops are really in Vancouver?
Verdex lists 16. They sit on Mill Plain Boulevard (Craft Cannabis), NE 4th Plain Boulevard (Fire And Frost Cannabis), NE Andresen Road (Craft Cannabis, INC.), NE 137th Avenue (High-5 Cannabis) and Broadway (High End Market Place). Main Street Marijuana has three doors, on Main Street, SE 12th Street and NE Highway 99.
Can I take it to Oregon?
No. Crossing the Columbia with cannabis is a federal offence in either direction. Statewide caps live on the Washington state page, not here.
Cannabis in Vancouver: questions
Is Vancouver's cannabis cheaper than Portland's?
The tax is not: Washington charges a 37 percent excise, Oregon 17 percent with an optional 3 percent local, which is why Clark County owners worry about Oregon competition.
How many cannabis shops does Vancouver have?
Verdex lists 16 with Vancouver addresses, including three Main Street Marijuana locations. Some may be in unincorporated Clark County.
