How it works

How cannabis is sold in Puyallup

Does the city of Puyallup allow cannabis shops?

No. Puyallup has prohibited sales since 2014, the Spokesman-Review reported in March 2026, one of nine Pierce County cities with a ban. Gig Harbor, Sumner, Bonney Lake and Lakewood are among the others.

Why do seven shops still say Puyallup?

Because a postal name is not a city limit. The register's addresses are 5809 112th Street E, 11522 and 11821 Canyon Road E, 10310 Sunrise Boulevard E, 1109 River Road and 7924 River Road. Pierce County had 11 retail shops in unincorporated areas, according to the paper, and it has received $8.9 million from cannabis sales since 2019.

Is the tribe's store in this list?

No. The Puyallup Tribe of Indians runs four Commencement Bay Cannabis stores, in Fife and Tacoma, under a compact that leaves the state's sales tax with the tribe. None of those names appears here, and we cannot tell which entries sit on tribal land.

What is wrong with The Herbal Gardens entry?

The Herbal Gardens carries the words Retail Title Certificate where its address should be, which is a data error. Look it up on the LCB site before you go. State rules are set out in our Washington overview.
