Part of the Shelton area's cannabis trade runs on tribal land, outside the state licence system.
Washington's liquor and cannabis board approves the Squaxin Island Tribe's marijuana compact, the second in the state, Indianz reported.
Elevation opens at 90 W. State Route 108, in Kamilche, across the road from Little Creek Casino Resort, as the first tribal cannabis shop in the United States, according to the Northwest News Network.
The state raises its statewide retail cap from 334 to 556 licences, according to the LCB.
The Verdex register lists five state-licensed shops with a Shelton address, none of them tribal.

Shelton Cannabis Co is at 1428 Olympic Highway S, Unit 1, and Tj's Cannabis at 3005 Northview Circle, Unit 1. Bayshore Cannabis Co is on Highway 3 at 3831, Sasha's Cannabis at 931 East Johns Prairie Road, and Sunsets Cannabis at 22190 North US Highway 101.
