How it works

How cannabis is sold in Port Angeles

The state originally set a cap of two recreational stores inside Port Angeles, and the Peninsula Daily News reported the city hit it when two opened. The register now lists seven, so counting the cap against the addresses is the first job.

  • Separate city from highway. Four listed shops are on East Highway 101: Dtc Holdings at 2840, Aristocrat Enterprises II at 2947, Muffys Pot Shop at 3142 and M & Leaf at 3230. The paper reported that the Hidden Bush at 3230 East U.S. 101 sits east of the city, so the four are likely outside it.
  • Trace the inside stores. Mister Buds is at 536 Marine Drive, Suite B, and was one of the first two. The other opened as Sparket R&R at 1403 East First Street, Suite B; that address now lists Floyd's Cannabis Co., and Sparket appears at 1215 East Front Street.
  • Watch for moves and sales. Shops change hands, so a name in the register may not match the sign. Read the licence.

What cap applies now

The two-store limit was the state's first allotment for the city, reported by the Peninsula Daily News. The state raised its statewide retail ceiling in January 2016, so we cannot say the two-store cap still holds. Clallam County's original six included two in Port Angeles, one in Sequim and three elsewhere. Tax and purchase limits are in the Washington guide.
