Look up a licenseHow cannabis is sold in Greenfield
Greenfield sold medical cannabis before it sold adult-use: a dispensary opened on 24 April 2018, and the first recreational store followed on 2 April 2019, according to local listings.
Why the gap
The city adopted zoning for all cannabis uses in 2018 and ran a host-community and social-equity process for later applicants, per its planning department. Six licences show on the register: Green River Cannabis Company Inc at 398 Deerfield Street, Greenerside Holdings, LLC at 180 Laurel Street, Patriot Care Corp at 7 Legion Avenue, Smokey Leaf LLC at 45-49 Bank Row, ToroVerde (Massachusetts) II, Inc. at 51 Davis Street and a delivery licence for M2B Home Delivery, Inc. at 139 Silvio O Conte Drive. Bank Row is the downtown entry.
What is still open
Question 8 on the 3 November statewide ballot would end licensed adult-use sales from 1 January 2028 if voters approve it, and medical sales would continue. The city's stores, all six, are exposed to that vote.
Greenfield's planning department publishes host community agreement information and a cannabis social equity plan, which is the place to see which operators hold agreements with the city.
