Someone driving in from the Hudson Valley or the Connecticut line for a Berkshire weekend finds Great Barrington's cannabis on two strips, and neither is hard to reach.

Pick Main Street for a downtown stop.

Pick Stockbridge Road for the edge-of-town stores.
Peak Collective LLC is at 325 Stockbridge Road and Theory Wellness Inc at 394. Theory Wellness was the first store to sell here; regulators cleared its adult-use licence in January 2019, according to WBUR.

What limits the number of doors

Section 7.18 of the town zoning bylaw allows marijuana retail by right in the B-2 zone, according to reporting in the Berkshire Edge, and town officials have since discussed limiting how many shops can open. Consumption stays out of public places under state law; our Massachusetts rules guide covers where it is allowed. Carrying purchases across a state line is a federal offence even between two legal states.

Main Street's three stores run from 126 to 454, so they are a few blocks apart. The Berkshire Edge also reported plans for further shops, including 783 South Main Street and 82 Railroad Street, so five is a snapshot of the register and not a ceiling.
