Hobbs is on the state's south-eastern edge, in Lea County, close to the Texas line, and its cannabis market is one of the state's densest. Verdex lists 37 licensed entries, more than Clovis's 35 or Farmington's 31, and about eight are on North Grimes Street, including Bryans Green Care at 207, Bryans Greencare at 201 and Animacann at 701. Bender Boulevard has three more, and West Marland Boulevard has Bud Board and Bud Brothers.
New Mexico sells to adults 21 and over who show valid ID; no residency is required, so visitors from any state can buy.

See the Red ListTexas is the customer, and the risk
Cannabis remains illegal a short drive east in Texas, which is why so many licences cluster in a border-country town. It is also why one rule matters most in Hobbs: what you buy here has to stay here.
- Consumption: two Hobbs entries carry on-site use in their names, Bryans Green Care on Navajo Drive and Bryans Hemp Apothecary at 502 West Navajo, so New Mexico's use-only-at-home rule has an exception here.
- Chain names: Accendo, Animacann and Bud Board hold licences in other eastern towns, so a Hobbs address may share a brand with a Carlsbad or Roswell shop.
- Manufacturer: Mindscape Ventures on Bender Boulevard is listed as a manufacturer.
- Cost: the state excise tax has been 14% since July 1, 2026, according to the Taxation and Revenue Department, with gross receipts tax added.
Because the town is so saturated, differences come from menus and service rather than availability. Ask for test results, and check the label guide before comparing strengths. Verdex has verified these licences and holds no scores yet.
Questions about this list
Can I use cannabis on site in Hobbs?
Only where the licence allows it. Two Hobbs entries, both under the Bryans name on West Navajo Drive, are listed as retail and consumption businesses. Ask about hours and rules before visiting.
Can I take cannabis from Hobbs into Texas?
No. Cannabis is illegal in Texas and under federal law, so purchases must stay in New Mexico. Treat any drive east as a legal risk.
