Florida has 781 dispensing locations, and Trulieve alone runs 170 of them, according to the Office of Medical Marijuana Use's update of September 18, 2026. Only licensed medical marijuana treatment centers may sell, each grows, processes and dispenses its own product, and only patients with an active registry ID card may buy. The card costs $75 a year, and 941,650 patients held one.

Verdex lists 12 operators, so each entry is a chain: Curaleaf with a Dadeland store in Miami, GrowHealthy with stores in Orlando, Brandon and North Miami, and Sunburn Cannabis, the former MedMen Florida, in Fort Lauderdale and Orlando. Delivery to registered patients and caregivers is allowed.

New names, old rules: what changes in 2026

Orlando (5 listings) and Miami (4) anchor the list, then Fort Lauderdale and Tampa. Chain names change: The Mint Cannabis took over the former Cannabist stores, Planet 13 Florida was VidaCann and MÜV is Verano's Florida chain. On September 11, 2026 the Department of Health issued 22 new licences, MMTC-2026-0029 to 0050, which include Star Buds Florida and STIIIZY Florida, and new licensees have up to 365 days to win approval to dispense, so their stores are some way off.

  • Quantity: up to a 70-day supply per 70 days; smokable flower up to 2.5 ounces per 35 days.
  • Residency: patients must be permanent or seasonal Florida residents, and Florida does not honour cards from other states.
  • Tax: medical marijuana and delivery devices are exempt from state sales tax.
  • Applications: since July 27, 2026 an application can be completed only if the patient has a current or scheduled certification with open orders.

Adult use is not on the horizon: the 2026 Smart & Safe Florida initiative fell short of the roughly 880,000 valid signatures needed, and the Florida Supreme Court declined the campaign's appeal on March 9, 2026. Cannabis outside the program is illegal. Our card and cost guide walks through the qualifying conditions, and the report on the 22 new licences names the winners.

Questions about this list

No. Patients must be permanent or seasonal Florida residents with a qualifying condition, a qualified physician's certification and a registry ID card. Florida does not honour medical cards from other states.

How much medical marijuana can a Florida patient buy?

A treatment center may dispense no more than a 70-day supply in 70 days, and smokable flower is capped at 2.5 ounces per 35 days. Patients may hold up to a 70-day supply, or 4 ounces of smokable flower, in original packaging.

Will Florida legalize recreational cannabis in 2026?

No. The 2026 initiative failed to gather the roughly 880,000 valid signatures it needed, and the Florida Supreme Court declined the campaign's appeal on March 9, 2026, so recreational use stays illegal.
