Many Arizona stores hold two licences from the Department of Health Services, an adult-use establishment licence and a medical dispensary licence, so one counter serves recreational customers and registered patients. ADHS's AZ Care Check database shows each facility's licences, hours and inspection history, which makes it the quickest check before you visit. Purchases are limited to 1 ounce, no more than 5 grams of it concentrate.
Verdex lists nine brands. In Tucson, Earth’s Healing has traded since 2013 from E Benson Highway, D2 Dispensary runs a gallery-style downtown store on E 6th Street, and Nature Med on W Ina Road has an express pickup window. Phoenix entries include Herbal Wellness Center on W Indian School Road and tru|med near the airport on N 40th Street.

Adult-use sales carry the 16% marijuana excise tax set by state law plus the 5.6% state transaction privilege tax and any city or county tax, so the total varies by store location. Registered patients buying from a medical or dual licensee are not charged the excise. Phoenix has 6 of our listings, Tucson 4 and Tempe 1.
- Delivery: unlawful until ADHS adopted rules, which state law required by January 1, 2025. Several Tucson and Phoenix stores now advertise adult-use delivery, so confirm the store's licence covers it.
- Gifting: giving up to 1 ounce, or six plants, to another adult is legal if there is no payment or advertising.
- Public use: smoking in a public place or open space is a petty offence.
- Social equity: state law created 26 additional social equity licences.
Arizona voters approved Proposition 207 on November 3, 2020 with about 60% of the vote, and first licensed sales followed on January 22, 2021. Testing is a live issue: in September 2026 Story Cannabis told suppliers that from October 1 its Arizona stores will refuse products tested by Kaycha Labs or Level One Labs, both flagged by state regulators, as our report on the two labs explains. The lab that tests a product is the source of the THC figure on its label. The Arizona buying guide has the limits and acceptable IDs.
