Illinois doubled its possession limits on June 12, 2026, when Governor JB Pritzker signed Senate Bill 3222 (Public Act 104-0463). Illinois residents may now hold 60 grams of flower, 10 grams of concentrate and 1,000 mg of THC in infused products, and non-residents 30 grams, 5 grams and 500 mg, according to an IDFPR fact sheet of June 23, 2026. The same law let dispensaries add curbside pickup and drive-through lanes.

Use is banned in public, in vehicles and near people under 21, and cannabis in a moving vehicle must sit in a sealed, odor-proof, child-resistant container.
