Sacramento caps storefront dispensary permits at 43: 14 reserved for participants in its Cannabis Opportunity Reinvestment and Equity (CORE) Program and 29 for everyone else. The deadline to apply for and operate a CORE storefront was extended from April 1, 2025 to April 1, 2026 by a council resolution.

Verdex lists 36 dispensaries, so licence status is the first filter. One carries a rating: A Therapeutic Alternative (9.1), a social purpose corporation on H Street in midtown. Adults 21 and over may buy, and patients 18 and over with a physician's recommendation.

East Sacramento has Abatin Wellness Center on 29th Street and 1841 El Camino on El Camino Avenue.
