Modesto taxes cannabis businesses at between 1% and 8% of gross receipts, the city's fee and tax page says, depending on the type of business. The council began regulating commercial cannabis activity on December 12, 2017, with a first reading of amendments to the municipal code that covered both businesses and personal cultivation.
Verdex lists 11 dispensaries with California licence numbers. Adults 21 and over may buy, within the state's daily limits, and the state licence should be displayed. This is a smaller list than Sacramento's, which sits about 90 miles north.
