City tax, the airport strip and why the scores are close

Portland voters passed Ballot Measure 26-180 on November 8, 2016, creating a 3% city tax on recreational sales; the Oregon Department of Revenue collects it for the city, and the city says the money goes to drug and alcohol treatment, public safety and neighbourhood small businesses. It comes on top of the 17% state tax, so most purchases carry about 20%.

• NE Sandy Blvd: Americanna RX (8654) and Deanz Greenz (10415) trade close to the airport. Airports and airplanes fall under federal law, so leave cannabis at home when you fly.
• Outer east: Electric Lettuce Division is on SE Division St at 17020.
• Daily maximums: 2 oz of flower, 10 g of concentrate, 16 oz of solid edibles a day, per the OLCC.

Scores this close mean the sensible move is to choose by convenience and by what you need. Read reviews for the specific product type, and check the edibles dosing guide if you are buying 5 mg servings. Some Portland stores, such as Urban Farmacy and Club Sky High, list delivery or pickup; see the state rules in our Oregon guide.
