The city of Lynnwood banned retail cannabis for ten years, until the council voted 5 to 2 on September 22, 2025 to allow up to four stores in the Highway 99, general commercial and Alderwood zones. The HeraldNet reported that Starbuds opened the first on April 20, 2026 at 4028 196th St SW #104, which matches the address of our Rdi LLC record. Verdex lists 10 dispensaries with Lynnwood addresses, but many are on Highway 99 with a Lynnwood postal address and may be outside city limits, so check the map.

Which of the 10 are really in Lynnwood

Postal addresses do not follow city limits. Records such as Hangar 420 at 15919 Hwy 99, Hypeherbally at 14702 and Kushman at 15804 use a Lynnwood label. The city's own new licences are limited to four, so a store that predates 2026 may be in unincorporated Snohomish County or a neighbouring city.

  • Medical endorsement: the city ordinance requires every retailer to be certified by the Liquor and Cannabis Board as a medical marijuana provider, though anyone 21 or older can still buy recreational products.
  • Buffers: 1,000 feet from schools and public playgrounds under state law; the city sets 100 feet from recreation centres and other age-restricted businesses, and Lynnwood Times called that one of the most permissive buffers in the state.
  • Money: 37% state excise plus sales tax; the city estimates about $100,000 a year in tax from retail cannabis.

Read our Washington buying guide for limits (1 oz of flower) and use rules, and check any store's licence in the LCB lookup, as the licence-check guide describes.

Questions about this list

Is cannabis legal to buy in Lynnwood, Washington?

Since the city council's September 22, 2025 vote, yes: the ordinance allows up to four retailers. HeraldNet reported the first opened on April 20, 2026. Buyers must be 21 or older with valid ID.

Why do some Lynnwood-addressed stores exist before 2026?

A Lynnwood mailing address can belong to an unincorporated or neighbouring-city location, especially along Highway 99. Only stores inside the city limits were barred before the ordinance, so check each store's city of licence.
