  • Minimum age

    21 for adult use with government photo ID; medical patients 18+ (minors with a parent/guardian caregiver)

  • Purchase and possession

    Personal-use amount: 1.5 oz flower, 12 g concentrate, or products up to 750 mg THC; over that and up to 2.5 oz is a civil offense

  • Home grow

    2 plants per household out of public view (21+); registered patients may grow 2 more, max 4 per residence

  • Public use

    Smoking cannabis prohibited in any public place and in vehicles; no possession on federal property

  • Taxes

    12% sales tax on adult-use cannabis since July 1, 2025 (previously 9%)

  • Medical card

    Register via Maryland OneStop, obtain provider certification; physical ID card $25 (printable copy free)

  • Delivery

    Standard dispensaries may deliver medical cannabis through June 30, 2027 (HB 622, 2026); some stores advertise adult-use delivery in select counties

  • Out-of-state visitors

    Adults 21+ with valid ID may buy; carrying cannabis across state lines is illegal
