How cannabis is sold in Cleveland

  1. Ohio voters approve Issue 2, legalising adult-use cannabis.

  2. Legislation on where adult-use shops may sit is introduced in Cleveland City Council, after planners discussed removing zoning barriers on 3 May, Signal Cleveland reported.

  3. Council passes the rules: no adult-use operator within 500 feet of a church, library, playground, park or school parcel.

  4. Adult-use sales begin; RISE at 1222 Prospect Ave E and Shangri-La at 4618 Saint Clair Ave are among the city's first.

Which streets are the five on?

Shangri-La is at 4618 Saint Clair Ave and Klutch Prospect at 300 Prospect Ave E. Story Cannabis is at 6400 Brookpark Rd, Mavuno of Athens at 5808 Detroit Ave, and Therapy Medical Cannabis on Lakewood Heights Boulevard. Under Ohio law a city that has no moratorium has 120 days after a licence is issued to prohibit that location, according to section 3780.25 as summarised by Ohio trade press. East Cleveland is a separate city with its own moratorium, so do not read its rules into this list. The Ohio buying guide has limits and taxes.
