We will be direct about coverage: Verdex lists just two Springfield sellers today, far short of the city's licensed market. This page is useful for the local rules and taxes; for store choice, treat it as an early list we are expanding.

Which Springfield dispensaries does Verdex cover?

Two, both with full profiles: Hippos Cannabis, a Missouri chain with a Springfield location, and Good Day Farm, a vertically integrated operator that also sells its own brand statewide. Springfield had about ten licensed dispensaries by local counts in 2024, and the first 12 approved for adult-use sales began in February 2023. Missing stores are not a warning sign, only a gap in our list.

What is the tax on cannabis in Springfield?

Springfield voters approved a 3% local tax on adult-use cannabis in August 2023, and it took effect at the start of 2024. The City of Springfield directs the money to public safety, mental health, housing and substance-use services.

Delivery, drive-thrus and ID

Missouri's Amendment 3 allows dispensaries to deliver to an address you choose where possession is legal, and some Springfield stores offer delivery or drive-thru windows. You still show a valid ID. Stores often take cash or debit only, since card networks limit cannabis payments; our guide to ID and payment explains what to expect.

Using cannabis in public, in a vehicle, or on Missouri State University property is illegal. For possession and home-grow rules, see the Missouri hub.

How to check a store we have not profiled

Missouri's Division of Cannabis Regulation publishes the list of licensed dispensary facilities, so you can confirm any Springfield storefront before buying. A licensed store checks ID at the door, sells sealed, labeled products with a state tracking tag and lab information, and gives a receipt showing the 6% state and 3% city taxes. Sellers offering cannabis through social media, unmarked vans or "free gift with purchase" deals at vape shops are outside that system, and so are intoxicating hemp products sold at gas stations, which Missouri regulators have treated separately. If something looks off, compare it with the patterns on our Red List.
