Where can visitors legally consume in Las Vegas?
A private residence that allows it, or a licensed consumption lounge. The CCB says cannabis cannot be used in any public place, which rules out the Strip sidewalks, and most visitors are staying somewhere private rules they do not control. That is why lounges matter here more than in most cities.
| Lounge | Where | Status |
|---|---|---|
| New lounge at The Grove | Next to The Grove, near Paradise Road | Opened April 16, 2026 |
| Dazed! | At Planet 13 | Operating (April 2026) |
| Smoke and Mirrors | Inside Thrive, Sammy Davis Jr. Drive | Closed in 2025 |
The Nevada Independent reported in April 2026 that the new lounge beside The Grove and Dazed! at Planet 13 were the only two state-regulated lounges operating in Nevada, and a tribal lounge operates separately under its own jurisdiction. The Grove's chief executive told the paper that his store is often the first stop for visitors coming out of the airport. Lounges open and close, so call ahead before you plan an evening around one.
How much tax is on a Las Vegas purchase?
About 18%. The Nevada Department of Taxation applies a 10% retail excise tax to adult-use sales, calculated on the sales price without sales tax, and regular sales tax is also due. Clark County's sales tax rate is 8.375%. So $100 of product costs about $118.38. Medical cardholders do not pay the 10% retail excise.
- Bring a physical ID; the CCB requires government photo ID proving 21+
- Order delivery only from a licensed dispensary's own channel
- Do not open anything in a rideshare or rental car
- Finish or leave cannabis before you fly home
