Strains for feeling talkative

Two residential-laboratory studies of smoked marijuana, run by overlapping teams in the late 1980s, disagreed about talkativeness.

• 1987 (Drug and Alcohol Dependence): twelve men living in groups of three for up to 18 days spent more total daily time in social interaction, on average, when they smoked active marijuana.
• 1988 (Pharmacology Biochemistry and Behavior): six men in two groups of three lived together for a week. Cigarettes with 2.7% THC left the time they spent in the social area unchanged but cut the time spent in verbal exchange.

Both samples were tiny and all male, and neither measured chattiness at a gathering. That is thin ground for any jar that promises a chatty evening.

Verdex profiles list talkative on 21 of 74 strains and rate it strong on two: Green Crack and Pink Runtz. Summaries of White Widow and Amnesia Haze both mention a talkative or giggly high.

Haze names crowd the moderate group: Haze, Purple Haze, Lemon Haze, Super Lemon Haze and Amnesia Haze all appear, a lineage pattern rather than a known mechanism.
