Three Vancouver stores carry Verdex scores, and none of them is downtown: Sea to Sky Cannabis at 6636 Fraser Street, Team Cannabis at 950 West Broadway in Fairview, and Sunrise Cannabis at 2943 Kingsway. Verdex lists 77 licensed stores in Vancouver in all, and the other 74 are register entries from the B.C. Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB) without ratings yet.
Buyers must be 19 or older and may be asked for two pieces of ID. A single purchase is capped at 30 grams of dried cannabis or its equivalent. Leafly lists Sea to Sky and Team Cannabis as open 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily with pickup and delivery, but confirm hours on the store's own page.

A Vancouver store needs the provincial LCRB licence and a City of Vancouver business licence. The city's zoning keeps cannabis retail in commercial zones and, as reported when the rule was adopted, at least 300 metres from schools, neighbourhood houses, facilities serving vulnerable youth and other cannabis stores. That spacing explains why the register shows stores strung along long arterial roads instead of bunched in one block.
- Kingsway: 3441 Kingsway (4Twenty Cannabis) and 2943 Kingsway (Sunrise) are both on the list; 4Twenty holds a second licence at 1747 Nanaimo Street.
- East side: Victoria Drive (A Bud Above Craft Boutique, 4914 Victoria Dr) and Knight Street (Affinity Cannabis Store, 5708 Knight St).
- Downtown: Arcannabis Store at 438 Richards Street is the downtown entry in our top group.
Government-run BC Cannabis Stores also sell in B.C., but every storefront on this list is private. Our public versus private guide compares the two. The Vancouver Park Board bans smoking and vaping, cannabis included, in all parks and beaches, with a minimum $250 fine, so a store purchase is not a licence to light up at Kitsilano Beach. City-level rules and consumption limits are on the Vancouver page.
Questions about this list
How far apart must Vancouver cannabis stores be?
The City of Vancouver requires 300 metres between cannabis stores and from schools, neighbourhood houses and facilities that serve vulnerable youth, according to reporting on its zoning rules. Stores also need an LCRB licence.
Can I smoke cannabis in a Vancouver park or on the beach?
No. The Vancouver Park Board prohibits smoking and vaping, including cannabis, in all parks and beaches, with fines from $250. Sidewalks away from doorways, parks and schools are treated more loosely, and landlords or stratas can ban use at home.
Are Vancouver cannabis stores licensed by the city or the province?
Both. A store needs an LCRB licence from British Columbia and a City of Vancouver business licence. Look for the provincial licence decal in the window.

18 in Alberta, 21 in Quebec, 19 in all other provinces and territories.
Possession
30 g of dried cannabis or equivalent in public (1 g dried = 5 g fresh, 15 g edible solids, 70 g non-solid products, 570 g beverages, 0.25 g concentrates or 1 seed). Some provinces cap home storage, e.g. 150 g per residence in Quebec and 1,000 g per household in B.C.
Home grow
Up to 4 plants per residence under federal law. Prohibited in Quebec. Manitoba passed Bill 34 in June 2024 and home growing became legal there on May 1, 2025 (19+, up to 4 plants per household, grown indoors; gov.mb.ca).
Public use
Set provincially: generally allowed where tobacco smoking is in Ontario and B.C. (with exceptions); smoking and vaping banned in all public spaces in Quebec; no public consumption in New Brunswick; private dwellings only in PEI; restricted in Alberta and Nova Scotia; not in vehicles.
