Kelowna council has let adults drink alcohol in selected city parks since a 2023 pilot, but cannabis stayed banned in every one, Castanet reported. The same city is strict about where cannabis stores can stand. Verdex lists 20 stores licensed by the B.C. Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB), on Lawrence Avenue, Gordon Drive, Summit Drive, Airport Way, Rutland Road, Springfield Road, Hollywood Road and Highway 97 North.
Buyers must be 19 and may buy up to 30 grams per purchase. All are register entries without ratings yet. Flora Cannabis is at 1100 Lawrence Avenue and Central Cannabis at 5507 Airport Way.

Kelowna handles each retail cannabis store as a rezoning to a retail cannabis subzone, and council files such as the application for 5505 and 5507 Airport Way show the process. When council finalised its rules, KelownaNow reported a 500-metre set-back between stores, 150 metres from elementary schools, 500 metres from middle and high schools, and Leon and Lawrence Avenues as permitted locations. Check the current Zoning Bylaw for the present figures, since the city amends it.
- Corridors on our list: Lawrence Avenue (Flora), Gordon Drive (Cannabission), Summit Drive (Cannasseurs) and Highway 97 North (Cannabis Corner).
- Rutland, Springfield and Hollywood roads: Cheeba Cheebas on Rutland Road S, Dutch Love Cannabis on Springfield Road and Eggs Canna on Hollywood Road S.
- Use in public: Kelowna's smoke-free park bylaws cover cannabis, so parks, beaches and trails are off limits.
Provincial rules also keep cannabis smoking 6 metres from doorways, and delivery from licensed stores is allowed to addresses in B.C. only. Read the public versus private guide for the online options.

When council finalised its cannabis zoning, KelownaNow reported a 500-metre set-back between stores. Check the city's current Zoning Bylaw, because spacing rules can be amended.
What age do I need to buy cannabis in Kelowna?
19. B.C. stores may ask for up to two pieces of ID, and one purchase is limited to 30 grams of dried cannabis or its equivalent.
