One city block matters more than any store address in Grande Prairie: the downtown zone between 100 and 101 Avenues and 98 and 102 Streets, where the city bans cannabis use outright. Buying is a different matter. Verdex lists 21 stores licensed by Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC), spread over 100 Street, 108 Street, 100 Avenue and Resources Road.
Adults 18 and older can buy up to 30 grams per purchase. These are register entries without scores yet, so use them to find the AGLC licence number for each shop, such as Abraham's Cannabis on 108 Street, and check the store's website against the AGLC list.

The list is short enough to see the pattern. Canna Cabana holds three separate licences in the city, at 10831 100 Street, 11070 100 Avenue and 11801 100 Street, and Cannabis 4 Less holds three more, including a downtown branch on 110 Avenue. Frosted Acres Cannabis and Abraham's each appear once on our list. Each address has its own licence number, so a chain's other branch does not vouch for the one you visit.
- Where use is banned: the City of Grande Prairie prohibits cannabis in the downtown zone, anywhere tobacco smoking is banned, within 30 metres of parks, recreation facilities and outdoor events, and at signed spots.
- Fines: up to $250, enforced by bylaw officers, peace officers and the RCMP.
- Home growing: the city page describes a free permit for up to four plants per residence, issued through Enforcement Services at the RCMP detachment on 99 Street.
Towns are far apart in the Peace Region, so delivery and online ordering can matter more here than in Calgary. Alberta lets licensed retailers sell online and deliver, using their own staff or a common carrier such as Canada Post. Read the Alberta rules guide for the details.
