When Lethbridge council debated its cannabis land-use bylaw in June 2018, the proposal was to treat stores like other retail and allow them in the commercial districts where retail is permitted, keeping only the province's 100-metre buffer from schools, school reserves and health-care facilities, as Lethbridge News Now reported. That approach helps explain why addresses cluster along the ordinary retail strips: Mayor Magrath Drive S, University Drive W and Southgate Boulevard S.
- Next door: the Lethbridge Herald reported in June 2021 that Coaldale council rejected a rezoning bylaw for one cannabis retail location, so the rules a store faces change at the city limit.
- Three Canna Cabana licences at 23 Southgate Blvd S, 338 University Dr W and 1328 Mayor Magrath Dr S give the chain the widest coverage; each has its own licence number.
- Downtown: Coulee Cannabis is the address on our list closest to the older core.
Prices and stock come through the same AGLC wholesale system, so compare hours, loyalty terms and delivery zones on each store's page. Confirm any store against the AGLC licensee search, and see the Alberta hub for the provincial rules.
Questions about this list
How many cannabis stores are there in Lethbridge?
Verdex lists 20 AGLC-licensed cannabis stores in Lethbridge. The AGLC licensee search is the authority, and store counts change as licences open and close.
Is there a distance rule between cannabis stores and schools in Lethbridge?
Alberta requires 100 metres between a cannabis store and a school, school reserve or provincial health-care facility. Lethbridge's 2018 proposal used that provincial buffer instead of adding more spacing.
Can Lethbridge stores deliver?
Alberta has let licensed retailers deliver since March 2022, using their own staff or a common carrier. Check each store's page to see whether it offers delivery to your address.
