By September 6, 2026, German state authorities had approved 474 cannabis clubs out of 908 licence applications, according to a Hanfjournal count. That is the entire legal shopfront for adult-use cannabis in Germany, since no shop may sell it: non-profit cultivation associations (Anbauvereinigungen) that grow for their own members and hand cannabis out in person. Verdex lists 12 of them, 11 verified, and the list reads like a map of first licences across the federal states: Hesse's first club, Broccoli Buddies in the Vogelsberg, two early Baden-Württemberg clubs in Mannheim and Achern, and CSC-Inntal-Raubling, among Bavaria's first three.

Who can join and what a member receives
Licences come from state authorities, so approvals are uneven; Verdex's guide notes big gaps between states such as Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia. The rules on membership and handouts are federal, under the Consumer Cannabis Act (KCanG).
| Rule | Members 21+ | Members 18-20 |
|---|---|---|
| Per day | 25 g | 25 g |
| Per month | 50 g | 30 g, at most 10% THC |
| Seeds and cuttings | 7 seeds or 5 cuttings a month | |
Membership requires six months of residence in Germany, only one club at a time, and a minimum term of three months in the bylaws; no club may exceed 500 members. Cannabis is handed out on the premises only, and use within 100 metres of the entrance is forbidden. Fees vary: 2026 market guides cite €10 to €50 to join and €20 to €60 a month, which are not official figures.
Before signing, ask for the licence date and issuing authority, the waiting list, the total monthly cost including months you collect nothing, and the work shifts expected. Full steps are in our club joining guide; consumption bans in public are covered in where you can smoke in Germany.
Questions about this list
Can tourists join a cannabis club in Germany?
No. Members must be at least 18 and have lived in Germany for six months or more, and a club offering a 'guest membership' for cannabis is breaking the law. Visitors may carry up to 25 g in public but have no legal place to buy it.
Can a German cannabis club deliver or post cannabis?
No. Cannabis and cuttings are handed out in person on the club's premises, with both member and club representative present. Seeds are the one item that may be mailed to members.
How much can a club give a member?
Members aged 21 and over may receive up to 25 g a day and 50 g a month under KCanG section 19. Members aged 18 to 20 get up to 30 g a month with a THC content of no more than 10%.
