How it works

How cannabis is sold in Bangkok

Four Bangkok districts, four kinds of business: the register shows shops in Khlong Toei and Watthana, one in Bang Rak, a clinic in Phra Nakhon and one in Bang Kapi. None of the 13 is marked verified.

Draft Cannabis Control Act
Cabinet approved September 22, 2026; not law yet

Why the list may be out of date

The Ministry of Public Health announcement signed on June 23, 2025 and in force from June 26 made flower a controlled herb sold on prescription. On April 30, 2026 Ministerial Regulation No. 2 B.E. 2569 tightened renewals, and the draft act is headed to the House of Representatives. The Nation reported in April 2026 that Thailand had roughly 18,000 outlets at the peak and that officials expected about 3,000 to convert to the medical model. Thaiger says compliant shops keep a licensed practitioner on site, so ask before you queue. The tourist rules guide covers penalties, including a fine up to THB 25,000 for public smoking, and the Thailand hub lists other cities. The Government Pharmaceutical Organization is listed as a brand, not a shop.
