How buying works in Phuket now
- Consultation
A practitioner at the shop or clinic asks about symptoms and decides whether to prescribe. LaLaLand in Rawai lists prescriptions from THB 500. - PT33 form
The practitioner fills in the paper PT33 with quantity and condition. Online or emailed prescriptions aren't recognized. - Dispensing
The shop keeps the prescription for at least a year and must show it to inspectors. - Next purchase
No refills: a new visit means a new prescription.
The shop side tightened too. Flower must come from farms certified under Good Agricultural and Collection Practices (GACP), and premises licensed under the April 2026 regulation need an effective odor and smoke extraction system so neighbors aren't bothered.

Cannabis in Phuket: questions
Can tourists still buy weed in Phuket?
Yes, but only with a PT33 prescription issued by a recognized practitioner, usually at the dispensary itself. Each prescription covers at most 30 days and can't be refilled.
Is it legal to smoke weed on the beach in Phuket?
Smoking that creates a smoke or smell nuisance in public is punishable by up to THB 25,000 and up to three months in jail under a 2022 Department of Health rule. Use it in private places.
What is the legal age to buy cannabis in Thailand?
20. The 2025 notification bans sales to anyone under 20 and to pregnant women.
Can I take cannabis bought in Phuket home?
No. Taking cannabis out of Thailand or bringing it in is treated as drug trafficking, and foreign prescriptions have no validity in Thailand.
Will Thailand ban cannabis shops completely?
In September 2026 the cabinet approved a bill limiting cannabis to medical use; it still needs parliamentary approval. From April 30, 2026, new shop licenses already require a medical, pharmacy or herbal credential.
