How cannabis is sold in Leipzig
Leipzig has 8 of Saxony's 29 approved clubs, and that is why people from the countryside end up here. As of 25 July 2026, 21 of the state's clubs were growing, and four districts had none, so a rural member may drive a long way, because delivery is illegal, reports Hanf Magazin.
Why did Leipzig's clubs start early?
Greenkeepers Leipzig was the first Saxon club approved, with about 120 members and first distribution in mid-March 2025, according to t-online. The Landesdirektion Sachsen decides applications, promising a decision within three months of a complete file. Saxony's whole 2025 harvest, 340 kg, equals what one full 500-member club could hand out in a year.
What should a Leipzig patient do?
Prescription first, then choose between a shipping pharmacy and a club. The telemedicine guide compares costs; state figures are on the Saxony page.
The Landesdirektion approved two more Leipzig clubs in the first half of 2026, alongside two in Chemnitz and one in the Saxon Switzerland-Osterzgebirge district, according to local press.
