Where do the herb houses sit?
| Cluster | What is there | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Drax Hall | Kaya Herb House at 1 Weed Street, next to Scotchies, opened in 2018 | Kaya's website |
| Town centre | A second Kaya store | Kaya's website; Gleaner, April 2026 |
| Island Village, Turtle River Road | JACANA's first north-coast store, stated to serve residents and tourists | CLA store finder, September 2026 |
Is Kaya's licence confirmed?
Kaya Herb House was the first licensed dispensary in Jamaica, and the Jamaica Gleaner reported in April 2026 that its herb houses earned about J$550 million in 2025, up 16 percent. Yet the store is not on the CLA's later published list or its new finder, and only a Kingston store appeared in the former directory. Verdex marks it unverified, though the Gleaner still calls it a large licensee. Its FAQ says smoking is allowed only in designated areas on the property, and it sets 18 as the minimum age with a recommendation or foreign medical card required at the door.
The JACANA Ocho Rios store is the one Verdex could match to a regulator's list. Rules for buying are in the residents' routes guide.
