How cannabis is sold in Montego Bay
Both Montego Bay herb houses on the register have licence dates that had already passed on the Cannabis Licensing Authority's last published list, and the CLA's new store finder omits them.
Whose licence is still current?
Island Strains sits in the Casa Blanca Hotel on Jimmy Cliff Boulevard, the Hip Strip, and its listed term ended on 14 October 2024. Outlier Bio-Pharma is in Whitter Village Centre, Ironshore, with retail and processing licences that showed 20 April 2026. Renewal may have happened without being published. Verdex marks both unverified until a source says so.
Which side of town suits what?
Island Strains holds the Herb House category that allows a consumption area, while Outlier's Ironshore licence is take-away only, on the eastern side of the city. Western Jamaica was hit by Hurricane Melissa in October 2025, so opening status is worth a call. The buying rules for visitors are set out in the Jamaica visitor guide.
